Never too late...

It is never too late to chase your dreams...

It's never too late to learn new things...

It's never too late to discover new things about yourself...

It's never too late to stand up for what you believe in...

It's never too late to start living how you want to live. Live your life to it's fullest potential. You're only given one, so make it count.

To sleep or not to sleep....

That is the question...

For all of you that have owned a new puppy, I'm sure you know how hard it is to be away from him/her.

But...I totally underestimated how difficult it can be to crate train a pup!

Yeah, we'd love to have him cuddle in bed with us all night...wake up to him licking our face when he has to potty, etc. Especially since he's still so young that he's afraid to jump off the bed. But, when he's a 60+ pound dog, having him invading our bed might not be what we want. haha! We love him to death... and listening to his scream all night in his crate is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. Not to mention I haven't slept more than a couple hours in the night since we got him.

So... we're moving the crate into our room tonight. Maybe being near us will reassure him that everything is okay. But until then...we have to keep feeling guilty (and sleepy) in order to have a well trained dog later on ;)

Meet Our New Baby...

This precious little guy is our new puppy, Charlie :)

We got him August 21, 2011 (only two days ago!)

Thus far, he is my only friend here in Washington other than Dan ;)

And I'm in love... with both of them!

OR vs. WA

Well...neither Dan or I find this to be a debate.
Obviously...Oregon wins.
But, Washington doesn't seem so bad thus far.
After all, they did give Dan a good job ;)

Oregon has:
-no sales tax.
-they pump your gas for you (which I never realized how nice that was until 6:45am today when I had to stand outside in my jammies waiting for my tank to fill)
-our families and pets
-friends
-the Ducks!

Washington has:
-a cute cozy apartment which Dan and I will start calling "home" soon
-colder weather
-70mph freeways!
-Pro sports (Mariner's and Seahawks)

So many pro's and con's of each. But Oregon will always be home to us. Nothing will ever change that.

Luckily, we're "tax exempt" if we show our Oregon licenses. At least for a while (until we get residency). So I'm just waiting for the moment that I can flash my Oregon drivers license on a cold morning and an employee will run out to pump my gas ;) A girl can dream...right!?

One major "pro" of both states is that college football begins soon! Which means we'll see who really is better *cough* GO DUCKS *cough*

Who said we need to fit in around here anyways?!?

:) Once a duck, always a duck.

Becoming a Big Girl

As Silvia Path once said, almost as if she was speaking directly to me, "[I'm] doing all the little tricky things that it takes to grow up, step by step, into an anxious and unsettling world."

In the past three weeks I have (1) became a wife (2) took my first vacation without my parents (3) moved out of the state of Oregon and into the state of Washington. And if all that isn't enough changes, I am now officially living with Dan, and away from all other people (and animals) that I know. Yes, that's right, I said animals. I miss my furry friends at home. Let's just say that my puppy fever is in full force right now.

All of these changes have caused my emotions to go a bit haywire. I find myself feeing overjoyed, then two minutes later, sad and lonely. But, at the end of the day, all I need to do is roll over and look at the beautiful man laying next to me, and my worries seem to fade away (at least for a while, hehe). Being such a family-oriented person makes this transition pretty difficult for me... but I guess becoming a big girl isn't always the easiest :)

So...until next time! Wish me luck ;) And if you know my family personally, stop by and send them my love. I know that this isn't easy for them, either. But I forsee this bringing us closer together than ever.

Discombobulated.

I'll get back to writing more when my thoughts are clear.

My mind is spinning in circles almost every minute of every day.

Until then...
Go tell someone that you love just how much you love them.
And tell them why. Everyone deserves to know why they are wonderful.
And be sure to tell them over and over again.
No one gets sick of hearing it.
And you never know when you won't ever get to tell them again...

Oh what I'd give to tell her just a few hundred more times.
Or even just once.
She truly was wonderful.
More so than I ever knew...until now.

Emotional

Emotions are such a bizarre thing..

I feel so much love.
Excitement.
Enthusiasm.
Joy.

Being engaged makes everything so fun.

But there are days I feel nothing but sadness.
Anger.
Confusion.
Lonely.

I miss my friend so much.

It's just so strange that I can feel two extremes at the exact same time.

I'm in love. I'm so happy. The only thing that could make me happier is if I had Hilly to share this with.
